Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT), also called Byzantine Fault Proof, is a core concept in blockchain and distributed systems. It describes a network’s ability to keep working even if some participants act maliciously or fail. In this short video, I break down the Byzantine generals problem – the classic analogy used to explain BFT, and show how it related to the reliability of blockchain networks like Solana, Ethereum and Bitcoin.
